Port Austin, MI & Environs

PORT AUSTIN

Port Austin is at the tip of Michigan’s Thumb and is on Lake Huron.    Port Austin is a short drive (approx. 110 miles from Detroit or 3 to 4 “Are we there yet?”s).  Upon arrival William enjoyed a dip in water.

Barb and Blake forgot their bathing suits – so William and I dared them to take a dip.

Kayak rental

Still trying to talk Barb into renting a kayak.  You can rent one at the Port Austin Beach or on the Pineborg river west of town and paddle to Port Austin or many of the stops on the way.  You can drop off the kayak and be driven back to your car.
